Sara Pressley, LISW-S, LICDC

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.

My hope is that through our work together, you will learn effective tools for coping with stress, building healthy relationships, and living a life aligned with your values. I am committed to keeping you in the role of “expert” when it comes to knowing what you need and I seek regular feedback to make sure that you’re getting what you want out of our sessions. Although the work we do in session can be challenging, I am confident that we will find moments of levity and laughter, as well.

Everyone experiences life's ups and downs — including therapists! I'm grateful to be able to hold space for you during the ebbs and flows.

Who am I outside of session?

For as long as I can remember, I have loved to read and write. There’s nothing like losing yourself in a good book and even as a kid, I loved creating stories of my own. After college, I worked in book publishing in New York for a few years shepherding stories into the world. Over time, I found myself a craving deeper connection with others (off the page!) and began to wonder if there was a way for me to put my listening ears to work in a new way.

Through my own experiences with therapy, I realized how much insight can be gained from having access to quality care and I wanted to create a space for others to explore, grow, and ultimately heal. While I loved the energy of the big city, Ohio has my heart so I headed back to the Midwest to pursue a new path — one that I’m glad has crossed with yours!

I am an advocate for library cards and snail mail and you can usually find me enjoying coffee with a friend, taking long walks with my dog Birdie, porch hanging with my family, and reading with my daughter (we love Phoebe Wahl, Cleo Wade, and June Tate! And of course, Madeline is a classic for a reason). I find joy in the small rituals of daily life and crave a slower, unplugged, more intentional pace, which can be difficult to achieve in our busy world. You can trust that I am learning right alongside you!

My background in communications is foundational to my clinical practice and I believe that healing happens within the context of relationships — with ourselves and others. Connection is key to feeling less alone in this world, unlearning old patterns, and making strides toward a future that feels hopeful and fulfilling on your terms.
